In his monologue, Chalamet reflected on the numerous nominations the Dylan biopic has received, including eight Academy Award nods this year. However, he quipped that he doesn’t expect to take home any trophies. “It’s getting harder each time to clap and smile when they announce someone else’s name,” he joked, setting up a comedic highlight—a video montage of his reactions at various award shows.
The clip hilariously showcased his progression from cheerful applause to barely hiding disappointment, drawing plenty of laughs from the audience.
Adding to the humor, Chalamet joked about his “Dune Popcorn Bucket,” a sandworm-shaped collectible from AMC Theaters, calling it his companion for another lonely night—a clever nod to his Dune role.
Although his girlfriend Kylie Jenner was absent from the audience, Chalamet didn’t let that dampen his spirits. Instead, he proudly celebrated the success of A Complete Unknown.
With eight Oscar nominations on the horizon, maybe this time the odds will finally be in his favor!
