Shannon worked with Baena on several of his films, including The Little Hours and Life After Beth, where she starred alongside Plaza. She also appeared in his 2020 film Horse Girl. Their professional collaborations grew into a deep friendship over the years.
Baena, 46, was discovered unresponsive in his home on Friday morning. Authorities confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene, with law enforcement sources later revealing the cause as suicide.
Aubrey Plaza has yet to release a statement regarding her husband’s passing.
