Molly Shannon Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Late Director Jeff Baena

Actress Molly Shannon has shared a moving tribute to her friend and frequent collaborator, Jeff Baena, just days after the director was found dead in his Los Angeles home.

On Saturday, Shannon posted a series of photos of herself and Baena on Instagram, accompanied by a single broken heart emoji. The emotional post highlighted the bond she shared with Baena and his wife, actress Aubrey Plaza.

Shannon worked with Baena on several of his films, including The Little Hours and Life After Beth, where she starred alongside Plaza. She also appeared in his 2020 film Horse Girl. Their professional collaborations grew into a deep friendship over the years.

Baena, 46, was discovered unresponsive in his home on Friday morning. Authorities confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene, with law enforcement sources later revealing the cause as suicide.

Aubrey Plaza has yet to release a statement regarding her husband’s passing.

The loss of Baena has left Hollywood mourning the death of a creative talent and a cherished friend.
