Lisa Kudrow Reflects on Matthew Perry’s Unforgettable Humor and Talent

Lisa Kudrow recently shared fond memories of her late Friends co-star, Matthew Perry, during a preview of her upcoming interview with Today’s Willie Geist. Speaking about their first table read, Kudrow described Perry as "so smart, so funny, uniquely funny."

Recalling that moment, Kudrow said, "What he was doing didn’t sound like what I expected. It was like nothing I’d ever heard before. I thought, ‘Oh boy.’ Matthew was blow-away hilarious.”

Perry, who played the witty Chandler Bing on Friends, passed away unexpectedly in October 2023 at the age of 54, leaving fans and co-stars devastated. The iconic sitcom ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 and starred Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc.

In June, Kudrow revealed she rewatched the entire series to honor Perry, a first for her since she found it “too embarrassing to watch yourself.” However, this time, she focused on celebrating Perry’s comedic brilliance. “I made it about him — just celebrating how hilarious he was. That’s what I want to remember.”
