The emotional moment was revealed when Barrymore asked Kudrow if she had ever taken props from a television or movie set. Kudrow admitted to doing so but declined to name specific items, prompting Barrymore to inquire about the fate of the Friends cookie jar.
“Matthew gave that to me at the end of our last episode,” Kudrow shared. “I had recently found the note that he had in it for me. I hadn’t opened it up or looked inside of it. But yeah, he did. He had a note in there, and I forgot about it…Timing is everything.”
The Friends cast—Kudrow, Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer—shared a decade on-screen, filming 236 episodes of the iconic NBC sitcom. Perry tragically passed away in October 2023 at the age of 54.
Kudrow honored her co-star on social media following his passing, sharing a heartfelt post featuring a photo of the two taken at the NBC Upfronts after filming the Friends pilot. In her tribute, Kudrow expressed gratitude for Perry’s humor, kindness, and the lessons he taught her about grace and love during their decade-long collaboration.
“Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said, that my muscles ached, and tears poured down my face EVERY DAY,” Kudrow wrote in the emotional Instagram post. “Thank you for showing up at work when you weren’t well and then, being completely brilliant. Thank you for the best 10 years a person gets to have.”
Kudrow also recently made headlines for revealing that the Friends cast had only reunited once in the 17 years between the show’s finale in 2004 and the filming of Friends: The Reunion, which aired on Max in 2021.
