In a recent episode of The Kardashians, Kardashian shared with her sister Khloé that the harrowing experience fundamentally changed her approach to life and emotions. Reflecting on the ordeal, she recalled being dragged, tied up, and threatened at gunpoint while thieves took her possessions, including a $4 million engagement ring from her then-husband Kanye West. Despite the life-threatening circumstances, she managed to remain calm, a reaction she credits with saving her life.
However, Kardashian revealed that this calmness, developed as a survival mechanism during the robbery, has since evolved into what she describes as emotional desensitization. Her therapist, she explained, attributes this shift to the trauma she endured, which has led her to suppress emotions as a means of coping.
Khloé noted the significant transformation in her sister’s personality following the robbery. "You were never calm as a teenager or in your twenties," she observed. "Everything stopped after you got robbed. Because you stayed calm in that situation, and it kept you alive."
In a confessional, Kardashian admitted her concerns about the lasting effects of this change. "I think I’ve let it get too calm, to where people could take advantage of my calmness, or I’m just turning into a full robot with no emotion," she said.
