The lawsuit, filed on December 31, comes after Lively accused Baldoni of fostering a hostile work environment and harassment on set. WME cut ties with Baldoni in December, citing the allegations. However, the agency clarified on January 1 that their decision was independent and not influenced by Lively or Reynolds.
Baldoni’s Claims Against Lively
In his lawsuit, Baldoni accuses Lively of sabotaging his career, alleging she tried to exclude him from the promotion of their shared project and even attempted to ban him from the film’s premiere. He claims his attendance was eventually allowed under “humiliating” conditions, including being separated from the main cast and barred from the after-party. Baldoni alleges he and his team had to organize their own celebration at additional cost.
The suit also accuses Lively of ostracizing Baldoni and his family on the red carpet, confining them to a basement holding area, and cutting short his participation in the premiere.
“Not only had Lively stolen the film, but she also robbed Baldoni and his team of any genuine opportunity to celebrate their hard work,” the lawsuit states.
Lively Responds with Her Own Lawsuit
On the same day Baldoni filed his lawsuit, Lively escalated her Civil Rights Department complaint into a legal case, suing publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, along with Wyfarer Studios.
Both lawsuits mark a heated legal battle between the two stars, with accusations of misconduct, career sabotage, and defamation at the center.
This ongoing dispute raises questions about the balance of power and accountability in Hollywood as more details emerge.
