Jamie Lee Curtis Embraces Positivity and Exciting Projects in 2025

Jamie Lee Curtis is stepping into 2025 with optimism and a slate of exciting projects. Speaking at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards on Jan. 3, the Freaky Friday star shared her personal resolutions, leaving "disappointment" behind in 2024 and manifesting "hope" for the new year.

“It’s been a hard year for many people,” Curtis, 66, admitted. Despite the challenges, she remains hopeful for brighter days ahead.

A Memorable 2024
Last year was eventful for Curtis. She received an honorary degree from the American Film Institute, deleted her account on X (formerly Twitter), and starred in The Last Showgirl alongside Pamela Anderson. She also produced and starred in The Sticky, a heist series about a Canadian maple syrup farmer.

The Return of Freaky Friday
Looking ahead, Curtis has plenty to celebrate. She and Lindsay Lohan are reprising their roles in Freakier Friday, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2003 comedy Freaky Friday. Filming began in June at Walt Disney Studios, and the movie is set to hit theaters in August.

Curtis shared emotional behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram, including a heartfelt post after wrapping up filming. “We made it for all of you,” she wrote, expressing gratitude for the chance to reunite with Lohan and work with emerging talents.

During a December appearance on Today, Curtis teased the sequel's plot, revealing it will feature their characters switching bodies with two teenage girls. “We couldn’t have made this movie until now because Lindsay had to be old enough to have a 15-year-old,” Curtis said, adding, “I’m now a grandma.”

Fans can also expect nostalgic nods to the original, including callbacks to Pink Slip and Chad Michael Murray. “It checks every box you’d want,” Curtis promised.

As she moves forward, Curtis is embracing the new year with positivity and projects sure to delight her fans.
