Aubrey Plaza Speaks Out Following Husband Jeff Baena's Tragic Passing

Aubrey Plaza has issued a heartfelt statement following the sudden death of her husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena, describing his passing as an "unimaginable tragedy." In her first public comments on the devastating loss, Plaza, alongside their families, expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support from friends, family, and fans. The statement, released on Monday, also included a request for privacy during this challenging time.

Plaza, who was noticeably absent from the Golden Globe Awards, refrained from attending the ceremony in light of her husband's unexpected death.

On Friday, police and emergency services responded to a Los Angeles-area home at 10:30 AM, after an assistant discovered Baena's body. Authorities have confirmed that Baena's death has been ruled a suicide.

Jeff Baena was widely recognized for his work as a director and writer, with notable credits including "Life After Beth" and "Horse Girl." He also co-wrote the critically acclaimed comedy "I Heart Huckabees."

Baena's passing was acknowledged during the Golden Globe Awards, where "The Brutalist" director Brady Corbet mentioned him during his acceptance speech.

The couple married in 2021, and Plaza previously spoke of their strong bond during an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show."
