Allison Holker Faces Backlash Over Memoir Revelations About Late Husband Stephen "tWitch" Boss

Allison Holker, the widow of late dancer and "Ellen DeGeneres Show" DJ Stephen "tWitch" Boss, is facing sharp criticism from members of tWitch's family and friends following revelations from her upcoming memoir. The controversy erupted after Holker's interview with People magazine, in which she discussed personal details about tWitch's struggles before his death.

Holker disclosed in the interview that she allegedly discovered a stash of drugs in tWitch's belongings after his passing. She also revealed that she had read through his private journals and plans to include excerpts in her memoir. These revelations have sparked public outrage, particularly from those close to tWitch, who accuse Holker of tarnishing his legacy.

Courtney Ann Platt, a close friend of the couple, took to Instagram on Tuesday to criticize Holker's decision to publicize these private matters. In her post, Platt called the memoir “tacky, classless, and opportunistic” and expressed deep disappointment in Holker's actions.

Members of tWitch's family have also voiced their discontent. His brother has publicly denied allegations of drug abuse, instead claiming that Holker was the one involved with illegal substances. Meanwhile, one of tWitch's cousins labeled Holker a "crazy woman" and accused her of trying to destroy tWitch’s reputation while preventing his family from seeing his children.

Adding to the backlash, Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace Dillard Bassett criticized Holker’s decision to air such personal details. She stated, “This white woman is doing everything BUT protecting her Black children and her Black husband’s legacy. She could’ve kept this in her therapist’s office.”

Reports also allege that Holker required tWitch’s family members to sign non-disclosure agreements to attend his funeral, including his own mother. These claims have further fueled tensions.

While Holker has not directly addressed the accusations, she has shared posts from supporters defending her. One such repost described the attacks against her as "wild."

The release of Holker’s memoir is likely to keep this deeply personal family conflict in the public eye, as debates about privacy, legacy, and grief unfold on social media and beyond.

Stephen "tWitch" Boss died by suicide in December 2022, leaving behind his wife, Allison Holker, and their three children.
