Prince William's 'Awful' Christmas Gift to Kate Middleton: A Pair of Binoculars

Prince William recently revealed a funny and somewhat embarrassing moment in his marriage to Kate Middleton. During an interview with the BBC, the Prince of Wales admitted to giving Kate a pair of binoculars as a Christmas gift, a present she has never let him forget.

In the interview, Prince William shared, "I did get my wife a pair of binoculars once—she's never let me forget that." He laughed about it, adding that it happened early in their courtship. "Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars. It seemed like a good idea at the time."

Prince William’s not-so-great gift-giving skills have been a topic of discussion before. Reports had previously stated that he wasn’t always confident when it came to selecting presents. The Prince joked about the binocular incident, saying, “That sealed the deal,” but admitting that it didn’t go well.

While Prince William might have struggled with gift-giving, he’s not alone in the royal family. Meghan Markle also faced challenges when picking presents for her family members during her first Christmas with the royals in 2017. According to the book Finding Freedom, Meghan wanted to make a good impression on her future in-laws. The authors revealed one of her gifts for Prince William was a spoon with “cereal killer” written on it, which was a hit with the family.

This year, Prince William and Kate Middleton spent Christmas at Sandringham with their children and other royal family members, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated the holidays in California.

Despite the hiccups in their gift-giving, it’s clear that the royal family continues to share special moments together, especially during the festive season.
