Madonna Sparks Controversy with A.I. Images Featuring Pope Francis

Madonna is in the spotlight again, facing controversy after posting A.I.-generated images of herself with an overly familiar Pope Francis.

The pop icon shared the A.I. images on her Instagram Story Friday, showing the Pope inappropriately close to her.

Madonna captioned the A.I. images with "Going into the weekend like..." on one and "Feels Good to Be Seen..." on the other.

Naturally, Madonna faced backlash on X, with some criticizing her disrespect towards the Church, while others mocked her for being with a man closer to her age.

While it's a new controversy, for Madonna, it's just another chapter in her long-standing feud with the Catholic Church that has lasted over 30 years.

The feud began in the late 1980s when the Vatican condemned Madonna's "Like a Prayer" song, which featured burning crosses and Madonna getting intimate with a saint in the music video.
