Kim Richards Calls Cops Over Cat, Sparks Mental Health Check

Kim Richards, former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, called the police over the weekend, alleging her cat was taken and later returned. LAPD officers responded to a home owned by her sister, Kyle Richards, where Kim also voiced ongoing grievances with Kyle, TMZ reports.

Concerned by her behavior, officers called a mental health team to evaluate the 60-year-old. However, the team determined she didn’t meet the criteria for an involuntary hold as she posed no harm to herself or others. Paramedics were also present but left without transporting anyone, and no further action was taken regarding the cat complaint.

This incident follows Kim’s hospitalization in September after police placed her on a 5150 hold at an L.A.-area hotel. Later that month, Kyle reportedly sought to have Kim removed from her home, with family members cutting contact in hopes of encouraging her sobriety. Sources say the family remains estranged.
