Jill Jacobson, a veteran Hollywood actress known for her roles in "Falcon Crest" and "Star Trek," has passed away at 70, according to reports.

Jill's close friend, Dan Harary, told The Hollywood Reporter that she died earlier this month in Los Angeles after a prolonged illness.

Jacobson started her Hollywood career with small roles in the late 1970s and later appeared in popular films like "Splash."

Jacobson's big break came in 1985 when she was cast as Erin Jones on the soap opera "Falcon Crest" for 22 episodes, before joining the spin-off series "The New Gidget," based on the 1960s show starring Sally Field.

Sci-fi fans may recognize her from appearances on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine."

Her other credits include "Party Down," "Hung," "House of Usher," "Days of Our Lives," "Who's the Boss?," "Newhart," "Murphy Brown," and more.

Jacobson's next project, "Merrily," is in production and set for release next year. It's unclear if she had finished her part before her passing.

Jill regularly performed stand-up comedy at The Improv and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles for years.
