Jane Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, has accused Jay-Z of using legal threats and other tactics to silence his client. In a letter to the federal judge handling the case, Buzbee claimed that Jay-Z’s legal team has been trying to scare and discredit Jane Doe. He called these actions “bad faith” and said they include threats of penalties and public statements calling the allegations false.
Buzbee also said that Jay-Z’s lawyers are harassing Jane Doe and her team to confuse the facts and discourage others from speaking out. He wrote, “Mr. Carter [Jay-Z] will do everything he can to intimidate and harass my client or anyone else who might accuse him.”
The lawsuit was updated in December to name Jay-Z as “Celebrity A,” who is accused of being involved in the assault. Jay-Z responded by denying the claims, calling them “heinous” in a handwritten statement shared on social media. He also challenged the plaintiff to file a criminal case instead of a civil one.
Meanwhile, Diddy is currently in custody at a Brooklyn detention center on unrelated sex trafficking charges. His legal team has not commented on this case.
Both Jay-Z and Diddy strongly deny the allegations. The legal battle has attracted widespread attention, with many questioning how the case will unfold. The claims of intimidation from Buzbee have only added to the drama, raising concerns about how the case might affect future accusers.
It remains unclear whether the lawsuit will lead to a resolution in court or continue to escalate further.
