Chad Michael Murray Talks About Reuniting with Lindsay Lohan for Freakier Friday

Fans of the classic Disney movie Freaky Friday have a lot to celebrate, as a sequel titled Freakier Friday is on its way! Chad Michael Murray recently shared his excitement about working with Lindsay Lohan again after more than two decades.

At the Christmas Con event in Edison, New Jersey, on December 15, Murray opened up about the experience, according to People magazine. The actor, who played Jake in the original film, described the reunion as “awesome” and a “nostalgic kick.”

“It felt like a high school reunion,” Murray said. “It was like no time had passed, even though we’ve lived entire lives since then.” He reminded fans that it has been 23 years since the original movie came out.

Murray also revealed that following the body-swapping plot of the movie was challenging at times. “There were moments where I was like, ‘Wait, who’s who right now?’” he admitted. Despite the confusion, he said the process was “so much fun.”

The sequel brings back beloved characters, including Murray as Jake, Lindsay Lohan as Anna Coleman, and Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman. The star-studded cast will also include Christian Vodal Mitchel, Mark Harmon, Haley Hudson, Stephen Tobolowsky, Lucille Soong, Rosaline Chao, Julia Butters, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, among others, according to Variety.

Fans of the original film were thrilled when the sequel was announced, and the excitement is building as the release date approaches. Freakier Friday is set to hit theaters on August 8, 2025.
