Liam Payne’s Fatal Balcony Fall Ruled Accidental Amid Drug Influence

Liam Payne’s tragic death after a fall from a third-floor balcony at a Buenos Aires hotel has been ruled an accident. Police sources report the fall, which occurred on October 16, was likely influenced by the side effects of drugs in his system, as confirmed by a toxicology report.

The autopsy indicated that Liam, 31, had alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his body, as well as other substances in trace amounts. The fall resulted in severe trauma and internal and external bleeding, leading to his immediate death. Authorities ruled out both suicide and foul play, suggesting instead that he may have been in a state of partial or full unconsciousness due to drug intake, leaving him unable to protect himself in the fall.

Witnesses described erratic behavior from the former One Direction singer in the hotel lobby, with reports stating he had broken his laptop and had to be escorted back to his room. A concerned hotel employee made a 911 call reporting a guest, suspected to be under the influence, who had been “breaking the room” and was feared to be a danger to himself.

When first responders arrived, Liam had already succumbed to his injuries, and medics confirmed he could not be revived.

Initial toxicology results indicated that he had multiple substances in his system, including “pink cocaine”—a recreational mix of methamphetamine, ketamine, and MDMA—as well as other drugs. An aluminum pipe was also reportedly found in his room. Police later detained two hotel workers suspected of supplying the drugs, and a friend of Payne’s was also arrested following a raid on his home.

Two women seen with Liam prior to his death were questioned by authorities but were not present at the time of the incident. They remain classified as key witnesses, though not suspects in the case.
