Conor McGregor Found Liable for Assault in Civil Case, Plans to Appeal

Conor McGregor plans to appeal the verdict in his recent civil rape case, following a jury's decision on Friday that found him liable for assault. Speaking to TMZ Sports, the UFC superstar expressed disappointment with the ruling, stating, "The judge's instruction and the modest award given was for assault, there was not an award for aggravated or exemplary damages. I am disappointed that the jury did not hear all the evidence that the DPP reviewed." McGregor added that he remains focused on his family and future.

The case, which has been ongoing throughout November, stemmed from allegations made by Nikita Ni Lamhain, also known as Nikita Hand. She claimed that McGregor and another man, James Lawrence, sexually assaulted her after a Christmas party in 2018. According to Ni Lamhain, McGregor invited her and a friend to a nearby hotel, where the assault allegedly occurred in a penthouse suite.

McGregor, 36, has consistently denied the allegations, maintaining that the encounter was consensual. Lawrence also denied involvement and was ultimately found not liable by the jury. However, the jurors awarded Ni Lamhain approximately $250,000 in damages, concluding McGregor was responsible for assault.

McGregor attended the proceedings with his longtime partner, Dee Devlin, but did not comment publicly after the verdict. Ni Lamhain, visibly emotional, thanked her family, friends, and supporters in a statement outside the court.
