Court documents reveal that Brad, 60, accuses Angelina, 49, of wrongfully selling her shares to Stoli Group, owned by Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler, without his consent. The actor alleges that Angelina's claim of attorney-client privilege over hundreds of emails, including 126 communications not involving lawyers, is unfounded. These emails reportedly include exchanges with her business manager, image consultants, wine consultant, and other advisors. Brad's legal team argues these communications are crucial evidence in the case.
Brad initially requested the documents over two years ago, but his attorneys claim Angelina has largely withheld them despite agreeing last summer to produce the materials. According to Brad’s team, the actress’s assertions of privilege amount to an attempt to suppress evidence critical to the case.
The dispute stems from Angelina’s 2021 sale of her 50% stake in Château Miraval. Brad claims the sale violated an agreement requiring his approval, as the couple had planned to preserve the business for their children. Angelina disputes this, arguing she was not obligated to seek Brad’s consent.
Brad, who offered Angelina $54.4 million for her share in the winery, asserts she instead struck a $64 million deal with Stoli, which he claims led to a hostile takeover attempt. Angelina’s former company, Nouvel, countersued Brad for $350 million, accusing him of misusing company funds for personal projects. Brad denies these allegations.
Both lawsuits remain unresolved as the legal battle over Château Miraval continues to escalate.
