Reflecting on her career, she described her transition from “Baywatch” to Broadway, where she starred as Roxie Hart in “Chicago.” “I don’t know what happened in between, it’s all a big blur. I am just happy to be here, in this moment,” she said.
Anderson revealed that Rob Marshall, the director of the Oscar-winning “Chicago” film, personally invited her to take on the Broadway role. This opportunity arose as old stories about her tumultuous marriage to Tommy Lee resurfaced, partly due to the Hulu series “Pam & Tommy.” “I’ve never seen it, don’t know anything about it, and I had nothing to do with it,” she noted.
To share her own story, Anderson collaborated with documentarian Ryan White on the Netflix film “Pamela, a Love Story,” which garnered two nominations at the 75th Creative Arts Emmys. The documentary caught the eye of filmmaker Gia Coppola, who cast Anderson in her Vegas-set drama, “The Last Showgirl.” Anderson is already receiving acclaim for her performance, including the Golden Eye award at the Zurich Film Festival.
“I transformed, and that was my intention,” Anderson said about her role. She emphasized the importance of seizing this moment, stating, “There is never enough time, so why not just go for it?” For her, this new chapter is not just about returning to acting but continuing a journey of self-discovery and resilience.
