Kanye West Sued by Ex-Security Guard Over Unpaid Wages

Kanye West is facing a new lawsuit from Jonathan Monroe, a former security guard who claims the rapper stiffed him out of wages while working at Kanye's Malibu mansion. According to Monroe, he was hired in August 2021 to protect the property and was promised $30 an hour. He says he worked between 36 to 50 hours a week but never saw a paycheck.

The lawsuit alleges that Monroe was fired in October 2021 after he started raising concerns about his unpaid wages. Almost three years later, Monroe claims he still hasn't been paid a dime for the hours he worked.

Kanye had been trying to transform the Malibu mansion into a bomb shelter during a major construction project, but eventually sold the property for $21 million. Monroe is now suing not just for his unpaid wages, but also for interest and punitive damages, aiming to send a strong message to Kanye.

This lawsuit comes at a time when Kanye’s business moves, including his real estate ventures, have been closely followed by fans and critics alike.
