On Monday, September 16, the A Quiet Place actress attended the American Institute of Stuttering Gala, where she spoke more about the upcoming movie. While she couldn’t reveal much about the sequel, Blunt did share what she was most looking forward to in this new chapter. With a smile, she said, "It’s cool," but kept most details under wraps. However, she quipped about getting back to her character’s look, saying, "I just wanna get some good eye makeup going again." She even joked about possibly dealing with stomach flu once more, a nod to her character's struggles in the first movie.
At the Gala, Blunt also opened up about her personal experience with stuttering, sharing how she’s deeply “invested” in raising awareness. She explained how challenging her childhood was due to her stutter and expressed her empathy for others who face similar struggles, noting that more attention is still needed for this issue.
The original Devil Wears Prada film left a lasting impact on audiences worldwide. Blunt’s portrayal of Emily Charlton, alongside Anne Hathaway as Andrea Sachs and Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, contributed to its success. The star-studded cast also included names like Adrian Grenier, Simon Baker, Gisele Bündchen, and Stanley Tucci, all of whom helped make the movie a classic.
In July, reports surfaced that a sequel is in the works, written by Aline Brosh McKenna and produced by Wendy Finerman. Rumor has it that the plot will focus on Priestly, played by Streep, as she navigates the challenges of the digital age while running Runway magazine. According to Entertainment Weekly, discussions are underway for Streep, Hathaway, and Tucci to reprise their roles, although not much has been confirmed about the new installment just yet.
